Top Save the Date Styles and Trends
You recently got engaged and have finally found your venue. You are working on finding your perfect photographer but you’re worried you won’t be able to get your Save the Dates out in time. Don’t worry! We’ve seen an increase in brides sending out save the dates without pictures. They either want to use their engagement session for a different service or a later season and are opting to lose the picture for a more cohesive stationary suite. I love the idea of planting the seed with your guests early on so they get an idea of what is to come. I think it is just the bit of suspense for them to get excited and plan their outfit. Just be sure that if you don’t include your picture that you do include your full names and a wedding website to find more information. They still want to see who you are and get more information as it is available. Foil Detailing
Metallic foiling is here to stay. What I love about foiling is the extra little detail it adds to any save the date as well as the the endless possibilities of ways to use it. While the colors are limited to gold, silver, rose gold, and copper, every bit of stationary could use metallic touch! While searching for my favorites I found a client of our, Mary and Zach, featured on the save the date on the right. I loved this one because of how the foiling is so subtle and used as an outline surrounding the botanical. It just so happens that the extra bonus is the two of them. Watercolor art is a great wait to add in color but I also find watercolor art to give a sense of lightness and fun to any save the. It really helps to suggest not only your color palette but your personal style as well. Contemporary Design
Save the Date layouts over the last few years have really started to push in to more contemporary and modern layouts. Designers are using a lot more font styles and color choice to appeal to couples with different tastes. When you want a colorful wedding or one that speaks to your artistic side I say embrace that and highlight it. Even better if you use it to center your wedding event design around. They add a lot of personal flair and color to showcase your personality.

This timeless approach for save the dates is one of my favorites. It is always so clean, crisp, and a bit minimal. These designs usually mix serif and script fonts to give the timeless elegance of a classic layout. If you ask me it looks great both with and without an image.
Location Inspired
Whether you are traveling for your wedding or your guests are it can be a lot of fun to add pull in that city in your design. From the Big Apple to the Windy City, using city skylines or travel inspired documents can be a great way to get guests excited about your upcoming nuptials and the chance for them to travel.
